'Beyond the Islands' Certification Course on Lake Superior

If you want to sail 'on the big lake' beyond the Apostle Islands, Superior Charters 'Beyond the Islands' sailing class is for you! This package is designed to prepare you for long distance cruising and to visit exciting ports outside the Apostle Islands such as Silver Bay , MN and Black River Harbor , MI. Weather depending; this course will cover 75 - 100 nautical miles in four days. Your instructor will help you increase your sailing skills and increase your confidence to skipper your own boat beyond the Apostle Islands .

Your Classroom
Our 'Beyond the Islands' sailing class takes place on 34 - 37 foot boats which serve as your classroom and overnight accommodations. You will sleep onboard the boat in harbor with complementary boarding the evening prior to the first day of your instruction. You will spend all other nights at anchor or at other ports with the instructor aboard. There are heads and a galley on all boats. Bring sleeping bag or bedding and towels.
